Hiroyuki DEGUCHI (Professor)

Biography

Hiroyuki Deguchi was born in Osaka, Japan, on August 24, 1962. He received the B.E., M.E., and D.E. degrees from Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, in 1986, 1988, and 1999, respectively.,From 1988 to 2000, he was with the Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, where he was engaged in the research and development of very large reflector antennas, deployable antennas, horn antennas, and radome antennas. Since 2000, he has been with Doshisha University, where he is currently a Professor. His current research activities are concerned with microwave and millimeter-wave aperture antennas and antenna measurements.

Dr. Deguchi is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), Japan, and the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE), Japan. He was the recipient of the 1992 IEICE Young Engineer Award.

Biography

Dr. Ohira received the B. E., M. E., and D. E. degrees from Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, in 2001, 2003, and 2006, respectively. From 2006 to 2010, he was with ATR Wave Engineering Laboratories, Kyoto, Japan, and from 2010 to 2014, he was with Saitama University, Saitama, Japan. In 2024, he joined Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan, where he is currently a Professor. His current research activities are concerned with the analysis and design of microwave/millimeter-wave filters and antennas.

Dr. Ohira is a member of IEICE, the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) of Japan, European Microwave Association (EuMA), and IEEE. He received the IEICE Young Engineer Award in 2005, IEEE AP-S Young Engineer Award in 2012, IEEE MTT-S Japan Young Engineer Award, and Michiyuki Uenohara Memorial Award in 2014. He was the Chair of IEEE MTT-S Kansai Chapter Young Engineers' Committee for 2008-2009, and IEEE MTT-S Japan Chapter Young Professionals Committee for 2014-2015.
