２つの記事に関心を持ち、読み始めました。

山口氏によれば ・・・政治と金の問題は1990年前後のリクルート問題、佐川問題であり、そのとき、「いわゆる55年体制で、冷戦構造の中で、ひたすら日本に親米保守政権を維持するという理由だけで続いてきた自民党政権が、もう歴史的役割を終えた」という認識が広くあった。80年代から、自民党の「利益（誘導）政治」「族議員」による政治は「統治能力」を思っていない。「外圧、アメリカ政府」の要求で政策が決まる。「漂流している」という批判から、佐々木毅や内田健三が政治改革を牽引した。
・・・しかし、結果的に「小選挙区プラス比例代表の並立制」は自民党の利益に沿うもので終わった。政党は「国会議員の持ち物」になって、「世襲」される。政策集団や、政党本位の政治、政権交代を有権者が期待するような姿にはならなかった。
山口・住沢氏によれば、自民党はすでに社会党と同様に、その意義を失い、90年代に終末期であったわけです。その後の30年におよぶ「一党支配」とは何だったのか？
再び、山口氏によれば ・・・右派ポピュリズムの台頭に関しては、日本が世界の先駆けだった。韓国や中国との関係だとか、歴史認識だとか家族モデルとか女性の権利とか、そういうイデオロギー的なテーマに関して、非常に権威主義的、家父長主義的な主張を自民党が強めた。他方、民主党が瓦解し、政治的な対抗勢力がいなくなって、どんどん自民党のそういう右派ポピュリズム的な姿勢が有効性を発揮する。だから、疑似的冷戦対立構造みたいなものをうまく演出しながら支持を固めることができた。
・・・小泉政権の「新自由主義」、安倍政権の「右派ポピュリズム」によって、自民党の内部で繰り返したパターン、主流・非主流（あるいは傍流）の交代、「派閥間の権力移動」として、自民党の一強支配となった。「右派ポピュリストが自民党を乗っ取った」。
山口氏は、当面、野党が協力して自民党に回復不可能な痛手を与えること、自民党の解体を完成するよう求めます。そして、新しい政策指向の諸政党が政権を組み替えながら、金融、人口減少、雇用と産業、外国人や女性、働き方を加えた新しい家族モデルを模索する。そういうビジョンを示すことが日本政治の長期の目標です。
山口氏は、野党が協力体制で自民党を倒すには、共産党の内部から改革が進む必要に触れており、中北氏の考察とつながります。

以前から読み進めていた英書を、連休中に読み終えました。
Martin Wolf, The Crisis of Democratic Capitalism, Penguin Books Ltd, 2024は、前半で、資本主義の失敗、民主主義の失敗を説得的に示しています。莫大な富を生み出し、富を支配する者が政治に介入し、制度を自分たちの利益に従って組み替える、「不労所得者の資本主義」に向かう危険は深刻です。それは人々の不満を広め、左派・右派ポピュリストに肥沃な土壌を与えています。
