五島列島へ行ってきました。
どれくらい遠いか、実感しようと思い、往路はフェリーを乗り継いで行きました。大阪南港から門司港へは12時間。博多港から福江港まで8時間。
エコノミークラスはエンジン音と震動が激しく、眠ることは非常にむつかしい、と思いました。

世界の株価、そして、日本でも株価が上昇することをメディアで多くの番組が話題にする中で、日銀が異常な金融緩和状態を終わらせます。それは以前から求められていたことです。
しかし、金利の上昇と円高が、債券価格の暴落、株価の下落、政府支出の削減、銀行・企業の倒産、正規雇用の圧縮、雇用・賃金のカット、デフレの再現、など、日本経済の失速につながるかもしれません。
もはや、そうではない。NISAの資金が株式市場に流れ込む。世界の株価上昇や中国経済の減速が日本への資金流入を促している。日本でも成長とインフレが起き、賃金を引き上げる企業も増えて、活発な資源の再配置、積極的な投資が始まっている。
しかし、アメリカ大統領選挙の行方、ウクライナの戦場、イスラエルのガザ侵攻と占領政策、大統領選挙後のロシア、ヨーロッパの極右、中国の経済政策と構造変化、米中貿易摩擦、台湾から中東地域、アフリカ、インド、中南米の安全保障に関する懸念。それらが各地の株価上昇と、いつ混じり合うのか？

貿易の自由化や金融政策が、より多くの人に市場のダイナミズムとして歓迎されるような形で富を創り出すとき、民主主義の着実な運営が社会の満足度を高め、内外で政治対話を機能させる、というのは広く合意できることです。それをどうやって実現するのか、試行錯誤が続きます。
ネット上で売買することには価格の頻繁な変動がともないます。しかも、個々の利用者に対して、異なる価格が提示される、という、納得のいかない状態です。
金融市場では巨額の利益を得る者や、個々の投資家にも容易に儲かる時期があるかと思えば、いかに慎重に投資していた人でも致命的な損失を強いられる時期があります。しかも、小規模な投資家に比べて、超資産家や機関投資家は崩壊の局面でも、その後の回復によって、大きな利益を上げるケースがありました。
金融市場に翻弄されるグローバリゼーションには、根本的な欠陥がある、という社会的な合意が形成されるかもしれません。
国家の諸機関や社会制度を民営化し、市場価格を基準に分割・再編し、解体して、民間市場の仲介に委ねることが正しい、という経済理論に対して、その前提を問い直す指導者たちがあらわれています。

福江島の住宅や仕事について、話を聴き、電気自動車に乗って島の各地をめぐりました。
「移住者」や「住民」という言葉に、複雑なニュアンスを覚えます。海が大好きで、釣りがしたい人、新しく食堂を開き、あるいは、農業を始める人、キリスト教の信仰心が篤く、隠れキリシタン以来の島民の姿に善意があふれる人。さまざまな移住の動機があるでしょう。
私には、まだ、わかりません。退職して何ができるのか。私が役に立つような、だれかに感謝してもらえるような仕事を、どこかの町で見つけたいな、と思いました。
