・・・新しい形の保守主義は、ロナルド・レーガンやマーガレット・サッチャーの時代に広まっていた保守主義からの根本的な脱却を示しています。レーガン大統領のような晴れやかな楽観主義や米国を「丘の上の輝く都市」という見方ではなく、トランプ氏の言うように衰退と「米国の大虐殺」を見ている。力強い国際主義の代わりに、外国の戦争や多国間組織に対する深い懐疑があります。その経済政策は、大企業に懐疑的で、大規模な福祉国家を受け入れることに前向きで、労働者階級の苦境に懸念を持ち、保護主義を通じて国内産業と雇用を維持することに熱心であるなど、左派の考え方とより一致している。（The Economist February 17th 2024）

・・・かつては現代の紛争では考えられなかった核攻撃の可能性が、冷戦後のどの時期よりも現在では高まっている。
・・・プーチン氏がウクライナ――どこの核の傘にも覆われていない非核国――に核兵器を投下したら、どうなるだろうか。
・・・米諜報機関は、ウクライナの戦闘機がロシアの防御をなんとか突破し、ロシア黒海艦隊の本拠地である占領下のクリミア半島へ進軍していた場合、ロシアが戦術核を発射するかどうかはコイントスに帰着すると推定した。
NYTのTHE BRINK by W.J. Henniganには、1つの戦術核兵器をロシア軍が使用し、それが核保有諸国の全面的な核戦争にまでエスカレーションする話がイラスト動画や録画によって示されます。
そのリスクは推測ではなく、諜報や電話会談、記者会見、外交圧力によって明らかに膨張し続ける危機でした。人類は今、広島・長崎の次の核兵器使用に傾く、深淵の前に立っているようです。

家族・出産を支援する政策。移民・外国人を排斥し、人権や法の支配を外から強制されることに反対する。国境を再強化し、教育に介入し、産業を保護育成し、特に防衛を重視する。国際社会や国際秩序を軽蔑し、国益のために隣国を威嚇し、大国として行動するべきだ。経済活動への介入・規制はそのための手段である。・・・日本の政治的再編もそうなるでしょう。
