先週、A. Toozeの考察にあった、エコノミストや技術が現実の秩序を決めるのではなく、権力者たちの争う、もっと複雑な歴史過程だ、という指摘を思い出します。
FTの記事（‘You can’t unsee it’: the content moderators taking on Facebook）を読んだからです。悪夢が利益をもたらし、人間の善意を破壊しつくす「孫たちの世界」を予想しました。
「これまでに 1,000 人以上の人々が斬首されるのを観てきました。」・・・「児童ポルノ、獣姦、死体性愛、人への危害、動物への危害、強姦などがあります」。こうした有害なコンテンツを削除するナイロビのモデレーターたちが、アウトソーシングされた労働条件と、精神に及ぼす深刻な影響について、フェイスブックを訴えています。
インターネットの巨大企業は、「他のプラットフォームと競争し、利益を得るために意図的にユーザーエンゲージメントを最大化しており、それが危険なコンテンツや危険なコンテンツの拡散を助長している可能性がある」と、弁護士らは主張しています。

The Economistの記事（Love and conflict）を読みました。・・・ん？ おそらく、AIにはできない、人間が得意なことです。
AIがさらに進化して、人間の知的活動も、身体的活動も、すべてが人間よりも優れている時代になれば、それはどんな世界でしょうか？
人間が何をするかはわかりませんが（恋愛と抗争・戦争）、経済成長は非常に高まると考えます（エネルギーなどの制約が解決できれば）。しかし、一部の活動でAIが人間に劣るとしたら、その場合、成長率は低下する。なぜなら、その分野の制約された供給に、非常に高い価格がついて、他のAI分野の成長を制約するからです。
記事は、当然、ケインズの予想に言及しています。彼は週労働時間が15時間になる世界を予想しました。それが実現しなかった理由は、絶対的な欲求だけでなく、地位をめぐる相対的な欲求があるからだろう、と指摘します。他の人、仲間との比較、相対的な優位や支配欲に対して、追加の労働時間を望む（受け入れる）のです。

The Economistの記事は、ケインズの楽観に近い予想です。メタバースや、アップルの3次元ARやVR仮想現実ゴーグルのニュースを観ると、すべての欲求が仮想現実の世界において満たせる時代に入るのかな、と思います。ゴーグルをかぶった人間の欲求にプライス・タグが付く。
同時に、闇バイトで高級時計・宝石店を襲撃し、若者が逮捕されたニュースを観て、悪夢の現実化を心配します。高度なAIで、犯罪や抗争、戦争のやり方を調べる者たちが、私たちの生活を大きく変えます。
防犯や監視カメラ、防衛費の増額、軍備拡大競争を支持する風潮は、だれが望んだものでもないでしょう。秩序の崩れる音に空気が揺れます。
