政治は確かに迷妄や狂信者の巣窟です。イギリス政治、社会的不満を吸収する様々なシンボル、北欧モデルに反する社会民主党の右傾化、EUもNATOもウクライナ危機に際して崩壊しかねない分裂状態です。
豊かな国には、離婚を人生の失敗ではない、円滑に合意するメカニズムが形成されつつあるのかもしれません。ますます多くの出産が婚姻制度の枠外にシフトし、結婚する人は減少し、離婚する人は増加します。OECDで日本は例外です。

北京オリンピック、女子スピードスケート500メートル、小平奈緒の17位という結果に言葉を失いました。高梨沙羅の失格も、羽生結弦の4回転アクセル失敗も。
スポーツの頂点で努力を重ねた人たちが、一瞬で栄光の場から消え去ることを痛感します。小平選手の強い意志と謙虚な言葉に好感を持つ日本人は多かったと思います。

The Economistの記事は、MAAMA (Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta and Microsoft)が技術革新に莫大な投資を行っている、と強調します。
「1月18日、市場価値が2兆ドルに達するMicrosoftは、それでも不十分だと、ビデオゲーム会社Activision Blizzardに対する690億ドル、過去最大規模の買収提案を行った。・・・MAAMAによる新投資額はこの1年で2800億ドルに達し、アメリカ企業の投資額全体の9%であり、5年前の4%から上昇した。」
グローバリゼーションの開拓者であったビッグテックに対する政治の風向きは変化したと思います。富を生み出すだけでなく、その公平な分配、公正な社会と安定した国際秩序を実現すべき政治の役割まで支配する危機が生じたからです。金融危機、ブレグジット、トランプ、香港、台湾、ウクライナが、政治権力の一層の空洞化にストップをかけたと思います。

拡大EU27か国と拡大NATO30か国がウクライナ危機に示すのは、分裂した弱さでしょうか、あるいは、新次元に向けた再編と強化でしょうか。
平和と繁栄の条件を共有する仕組みは、参加することで、各国がより柔軟で円滑な調整を可能にし、戦争ではなく、平和的な交渉と合意されたルールにより、国際秩序を調整し安定化する歴史的試みです。
ロシアのプーチン大統領が軍隊を動かして交渉と合意の条件を自国に有利な形で描こうとするのは、権力を独占した指導者による政治ショーだと思います。トランプと金正恩とのサミットにも似た、具体的中身を欠いたテレビ番組です。
テレビカメラの無いところでは、対立する指導者の毒殺や、中距離核兵器の配備、他国への情報操作など、権力と優位を維持するために布石を打ち続けるでしょう。

スノーボードの裏にはスポンサー企業の名前やシンボルが見えます。オリンピックは、世界企業が冬のスポーツを広め、市場化・商品化する競技場になっています。
ロシアはウクライナ周辺で大規模な軍事演習を行い、今日にも戦争がはじまる緊迫の情勢です。NATO拡大ではなく、地域安全保障の確立を共通のテーマとして、交渉と軍備の制限・縮小に向けた監視・検証プロセスを明確に制度化することです。
戦争や投資をめぐる妄想を排除すれば、フロンティアとしてのアフリカに、最底辺の人々に、あるいは、平和に投資する機会が、もっと見つかるはずです。
