日本の政治は、今も、夫婦別姓に明確な答えを示しません。
台湾で同性婚が認められても、日本人が台湾で同性婚を望むことは、なお日本の法律がそれを阻んでいるようです。
香港民主化を歌手として闘い、LGBTの人権にも積極的に取り組んだデニス・ホー、Appleの最高経営責任者であるティム・クックは、ホモセクシャルです。
カトリック教徒が多数を占めるアイルランドで、妊娠中絶や同性婚が国民投票で認められた、というニュースに、民主主義の尊厳を感じました。
他方、同性愛者を侮辱し、迫害し、虐待する民族主義者や極右の暴力集団が、ドナルド・トランプなど、指導者たちを支持しています。ウクライナ危機を演じるウラジーミル・プーチンの男性暴力支配を楽しむ国際ファンクラブがある、とG. Rachmanは批判します。

BBCの記事では、アリスとその娘が、同性のパートナーと、精子を提供してくれたシス男性の友人（叔父さん、とよぶ）が緊密な、新しいタイプの家族になる、と理解します。
より広いコミュニティ、新しい家族構造が生まれている、と。LGBTカップルが子供を持つこと、育てることのできる社会的合意に向けて、世界は模索し始めています。
不妊治療に保険を適用する、と日本政府は新機軸のように示します。しかし、精子を提供すること、遺伝子を選択すること、さまざまな人工の選択肢と合理性、家族、愛情・・・テクノロジーと政治・神学論争に踏み込む気配は見えません。
エルトン・ジョンもホモセクシャルです。この美しい曲でだれを想ったのか。
