Kagawa Prefecture, where I was born, is famous for Udon. I introduce my favorite Udons.


Udon is white noodle made from wheat flour.
 They are served hot in broth or cold after being dipped in a soy-flavored sauce.


Kake-Udon


This is the most popular Udon.
Hot udon topped with thinly sliced green onions.




Curry-Udon


Udon in a curry-flavoured soup  may also include meat or vegetables.

Niku-Udon


Udon topped with meat and sliced green onion.


Bukkake-Udon





Cold udon served with thick dashi-broth.


Zaru-Udon



Chilled udon noodle topped with shredded nori and served on a zaru, a sieve-like bamboo tray.
