A TASTE OF PARADISE
When it comes to food, the Seychelles offer a mouthwater-ing choice of dishes, ranging from the unusual and exotic to the familiar and famous. As well as Seychellois -Creole cuisine, there is Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Indian and French cuisine to sample. Creole cuisine blends together a magical mixture of fruit, fish, fresh vegetables and spices. Lobster, octopus, fruit-bat, pork and chicken are often used in conjunction wlth coconut milk as a base for many dishes. There are strange-sounding fruits and vegetables to experience as well, such as calabash, golden apple, choux choute, palmiste and patole. Even the dishes themselves have romantic names. Try bourgeois grille, soupe de tectec, bouillon brede, cari bernique, chatini requin or katkat banane for a true taste of the islands.
