Well-developed Japanese Language Courses
A wide range of learning in practice from preparation for various examinations to understanding of Japanese culture

The curriculum, which is designed to enable the students to learn widely about the modern Japanese language, culture and society, consists of:
Japanese Language Courses to help students first to acquire the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and then to further develop their specific skills in reading comprehension, written expressions and oral expressions.
Japanese/English Language Seminars to help students prepare for a variety of examinations, such as the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students, and university entrance examinations, etc.
Lecture Courses in Japanese Studies to promote students’ understanding of the Japanese language, arts, philosophy, religion, law and politics, history, society, life and culture, as well as intercultural communication between Japan and other countries.
Lecture Courses in International Studies: To be established in 2009.

Courses at eight different levels in proficiency to enable each student to study Japanese language suitable to his or her individual ability and need

The Center for Japanese Language and Culture requires as its basic application qualification “a minimum of one year’s study of the Japanese language.” However, there are considerable differences in Japanese abilities among our new students, so that taught all in the same class at the same level, the students may have a learning problem in the class. Given this factor, the Center offers the Japanese Language Courses divided into eight different levels (elementary level, upper elementary level, pre-intermediate level, intermediate level, upper intermediate level, pre-advanced level, advanced level and high advanced level) according to student’s Japanese ability. In addition, the Center offers small-sized classes in the courses giving better to suit each student’s needs for a closely monitored individualized learning.
